Our WHOLE COMMUNITY approach means we need YOU! There are a variety of ways you can help your community prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is made up of citizen volunteers who are trained for emergencies. This training is free to the public.
Visit our CERT page for details or to sign up.
Ways to Help Your Community
During a disaster you can support your community in many ways:
Donations
Donated products may be needed for members of the community that have lost belongings due to the impact of a disaster. Items such as canned goods, baby products (e.g., diapers), and other clothing items are usually acceptable.
Monetary Donations
The most effective donation is monetary. By donating money, volunteer organizations can support the community with needs such as food, water, or other essential needs.
If you need additional assistance regarding your donations, please call Greenville County Emergency Management at 864-467-2680.
